Welcome to the warmth and freedom of our personal space. Dedicated parking for our cottage is available for your use as well as complimentary wireless internet. We are located in a safe community with an entry code panel. The house is equipped with fire extinguishers, smoke, and CO2 detectors.
Bedroom Suite
Queen-size bed with cherry wood armoire and a writing desk; USB charging stations conveniently located. Take pleasure in quality linens & duvets.
Bathroom & Toiletries
There are heated towel racks and tile flooring in the bathroom that will soothe the soul; as well as a curbless walk-in shower with a pebbled shower floor. On arrival, you will find a soothing ambiance from aromatherapy mists. Hand soaps, lotions, and washes are well stocked. There is a portable first aid kit for day-long hikes and bike rides.
The washer/dryer in the downstairs utility room is available for all rentals of 5 days or more.
Kitchen & Dining
Our open concept fully-equipped gourmet cherry wood kitchen features full-size appliances including gas stove and microwave, fridge with ice/filtered water and dishwasher; Vancouver Island marble and solid wood countertops.
Living Room & Patio
A comfortable place to eat, drink and lounge the day away whenever you're not exploring the area! In the summer walk out to the patio where a gas barbecue and view awaits. An outdoor firepit is also there for those chilly evenings.

Make the Most of Your Stay
Taylor, our cleaner, and I have established Post-COVID guidelines to ensure a safe environment for both our guests and Taylor. Beyond adhering to the rigorous Ministry of Health guidelines, we take into advisement both BC WorkSafe and Airbnb’s recommendations. PLEASE READ the laminated guide sheet on arrival. Stay safe. Stay well.
There will be welcoming treats awaiting your arrival but we highly recommend you bring your own groceries (don’t forget the liquids) and the kitchen is nicely stocked with the basics. Comfort the body; feed the soul. There’s something elemental about foraging for wild food in remote places – whether you’re buffeting the waves for Dungeness crab, mushrooming in an autumnal forest, or seeking the elusive salmonberry. Tune into nature and the seasons to find a little headspace – and hopefully some edible delights. Or choose the local cafes or pub for a night off; the food is great; highlighting local fare. The pub offers great views over working docks. All are within walking distance if you’d like to keep the car parked.
Port Renfrew is on the edge of the wilderness. Amenities are still few. We have a small gas station in the town (just before the Fire Station) but we would recommend filling up your vehicle in either Sooke or Lake Cowichan.
Neighbouring properties (far end of the development) are under construction. As of March 2023, the roof is on, and they are being closed in. Major construction is over. There may be some light noise as the finishing stages are complete. The crews are cognizant of our guests.
Being new to hosting, we are offering the basic amenities plus little luxuries that we would expect in our own home. If we have neglected something, please do let us know. We want to make the most of your stay!
